In Iran, a large part of government supervision in the field of public health is exercised by the Commission on the subject of Article 20 of the Code relating to the medical, pharmaceutical, food and drink matters adopted in 1334 (with subsequent amendments). This commission based on the state's distinctive power through the prior supervision is the authority to establish and evaluate the general and technical competence of the founders and technical authorities of the medical institutions.
