Abstract:
Background and Aim: Today's modern societies are more concerned about basic human rights and human dignity. Human rights seek to establish a well-established and institutionalized link between biotech and human society. Therefore, the challenges of this technology should be explained from the perspective of human rights, one of the important issues of which is to examine this issue from the perspective of the right to know.
Materials and Methods: In this article by analytical-comparative method we will examine the question: What is the impact of realizing and protecting the right to know in the face of challenges related to biotech?
Findings: Considering the capacities of the international human rights system as the common legal language of the international community in coordinating the laws related to this field can be an effective solution to the challenges of biotechnology. One of these is the need to realize and protect human rights.
Ethical Considerations: Despite legislation at the national and international level to advocate for the use of biotechnological applications, the different approaches of different countries and legal systems have led to the creation of uncoordinated and separate laws in the field of biotechnology, which has led to persistence within communities of ethical concerns about the dangers of biotech applications.
Conclusion: The realization of the right to know and collectively know about biotechnology applications such as access to human genetic data and genetically modified crops will provide appropriate practical and legal answers.
