Abstract:  
Background and Aim: Today, organ transplantation as a new phenomenon in law and medicine in the Iranian legal system faces many obstacles and challenges. One of the most important of these obstacles is the rules and regulations that due to the passage of time do not meet the growing needs of applicants for organ donation and effective support for organ donors, and daily we see the death of some of these people (at least seven) in the transplant waiting list. In this regard, the role of the Iranian legislature in reforming the principles and completing the legal system of organ transplantation on the one hand and judicial legislation through the establishment of judicial procedure will certainly be very fundamental. The purpose of writing this article is to examine the importance and necessity of reviewing and amending existing laws and regulations, as well as explaining the challenges and necessities of the legal system of organ transplantation in Iran. Provide appropriate strategies to increase the resources of transplant recipients.
 
Materials and Methods: The present article has been written using the library method and the use of authoritative scientific books and articles to provide a way and move towards the desired system of organ donation.
 
Results: The results of the present study indicate that the existing laws and regulations are not sufficient to eliminate the barriers and challenges of organ donation and reviewing and amending laws and regulations and developing appropriate strategies in this field can be very helpful in improving the legal system of organ transplantation.
 
Ethical considerations: In order to organize this research, while observing the authenticity of the texts, honesty and fidelity have been observed.
 
Conclusion: The results indicate that the existing laws and regulations are not sufficient to remove the obstacles and challenges of organ donation and reviewing and amending laws and regulations and developing appropriate solutions in this regard can be very helpful in improving the legal system of organ transplantation.
