Abstract:  
Background and Aim: This study is doen, with the approach of comparative study and recognizing laws of patient participation and responsibility in the treatment and control of Epidemic diseases in the Iranian legal sysem and leading countries.
Method: This research is a review study, and information collection has performed by referring to reliable sources, books, and cited papers.
Ethical Considerations: All ethical considerations have been observed in this study.
Results: Intimidating or coercing patients to comply with requirements to prevent contain disease or prevent their prevalence in the health systems, especially during emergencies such as epidemics, poses major legal challenges. In these cases, in addition to consistent global legislation, each country also established comprehensive guidelines according to cultural and local conditions under the supervision of the World Health Organization. Legislative efforts in this area emphasize the roles of hospitals, nurses, and physicians, as well as their criminal and civil responsibilities.
Conclusion: In Iran, compared to the leading countries in public health laws, there are significant legal deficiencies in cases such as refusal for Epidemic disease treatment, how to deal with the refusal of patients or their guardians to receive treatment or even the quarantine conditions for infectious diseases; Meanwhile, countries like the UK and the United States have established some regulations in this area. With the approach of recognizing these laws in the leading countries, in this study, Iranian and US regulations on patient participation and responsibility in the treatment and control of epidemic diseases were comparatively investigated.
