Abstract:
Background and Aim: Startups have various legal aspects. The intellectual property rights of startups are one of the important issues discussed in this paper.
Method: The present paper is descriptive-analytical and the issue under discussion is investigated using the library method.
Ethical Considerations: In all stages of writing the present research, the originality of the texts, honesty and trustworthiness have been observed.
Results: The findings indicate that one of the ways to support startups is to protect the intellectual property rights of these types of businesses. Patent protection, trade secret protection, trademark protection and copyright are the most important mechanisms for protecting the intellectual property rights of startups in Iranian law and international documents. However, there are challenges in this regard: the lack of inclusion of the law supporting knowledge-based companies for all startups as the most important protection law in this field, the lack of support mechanisms for the commercialization of inventions and ideas in startups after registration and the unreliability and insecurity of the activity in this field regarding their innovative ideas are among the most important challenges in this regard.
